Sustainable World through Steels is a 5-year research and development program with an ecosystem investment exceeding EUR 100 million. The program aims to build a world-leading high-strength fossil-free steel production system. Funding from Business Finland is highly acknowledged.

Themes
This initiative focuses on accelerating the transition to fossil-free steel production through new technologies, digitalization, and circular solutions. It aims to reduce CO₂ emissions while ensuring high-quality steel production, improving efficiency with AI and advanced manufacturing processes, and increasing the use of fossil-free steel in industrial applications. The program also promotes circularity by maximizing the value of steelmaking by-products, helping create a more sustainable and near zero-waste steel industry.
